Johnnie Walker

Originally known as Walker's Kilmarnock Whisky, the Johnnie Walker brand is a legacy left by John 'Johnnie' Walker after he started to sell whisky in his grocer’s shop in Ayrshire, Scotland. The brand became popular, but after Walker's death in 1857 it was his son Alexander Walker and grandson Alexander Walker II who were largely responsible for establishing the scotch as a popular brand. It is the most widely distributed brand of blended Scotch whisky in the world, sold in almost every country with yearly sales of over 130 million bottles

Johnnie Walker Blue Label 700ml $261.00	The John Walker Chosen from a reserve of over seven million casks, only nine distilleries – six malt and three grain whiskies – are represented in The John Walker. These include some of the last priceless, remaining casks from the distiller’s stocks of malt whisky from Glen Albyn, closed in 1983, and grain whisky from Cambus, which closed in 1993. Unlike any other Johnnie Walker blend, the whiskies then come together for a second and final maturation to marry the blend in a 100 year-old wood cask. Each single barrel batch (“no two batches will ever be exactly the same”, the company emphasised) fills just 330 individually numbered, hand-blown Baccarat crystal decanters. Just ten of these have been made available in Australia, and World of Whisky has only one left. Only whiskies from distilleries operating during the reign of King George V have been used. The highly prized Port Ellen™ Islay single malt Scotch whisky is used in Johnnie Walker Blue Label King George V blend. The distillery no longer exists and the remaining stock is carefully preserved and has steadily appreciated in value due to its absolute scarcity.
